Ok, so it’s coming up to three months before Vertical Rush and that means it’s a great time to start formulating a dedicated training plan. Over the next few weeks we will be giving you ideas and tips for how to get in great shape for the event, whether you are just looking to finish or you want to really go for it and clock a good time.

Before you get into a specific training regime it’s important that you have a solid fitness base. If you are starting from complete scratch, we would suggest some basic calisthenics and light cardio to get your body used to exertion. Press ups, sit ups, light weights, lunges and a chosen form of cardio three days a week at least will be a good start. Be sure to couple all this with a solid programme of post-workout cool downs and stretching.

For every competitor at Vertical Rush, from the first to the last, there will be pain. Your legs are going to hurt, your heart rate will get high very quickly and your lungs will likely be burning. It is vital that you get yourself in good shape for the event so you can really enjoy it. Nobody wants to be retching at the 20th floor, completely burnt out and not even halfway through. So, keep an eye on this site over the next few weeks and we will do our best to guide you through so you can start strong and finish well on 9th March 2017.
